Are my images uploaded?
No. They are read and processed by your browser and never sent to a server.
Which files can I use?
JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. For animated GIFs only the first frame is used. Very large images (over about 16 megapixels) or files over 40 MB may fail, especially on phones.
What exactly is removed?
Because each image is redrawn and re-saved, EXIF data such as GPS, camera model and timestamps is not carried over, and neither are embedded colour profiles.
Does quality change?
JPEG files are saved again at high quality, so there is a very small loss. PNG is lossless.
